Jean Moulin's "twin" partnership in Poland

Hello,

We are the class of 2^nd08 in Jean Moulin high school.

Since the beginning of the year, we've been having a partnership with a Polish high school in Kepno, in the South of Poland. We’ve been communicating with our Polish penfriends through a « Twinspace ». It's a sort of blog with many different sections inside. You can chat, send emails, post forum threads, articles...

First, we completed our profiles, writing our physical and personality descriptions, then we had a look at the penfriends' profiles, we wrote some paragraphs about our high school, our class and our town. In the « forum » section we asked some questions about their culture and so did they. We then answered each other.

Since Christmas is coming, we’ve written postcards and sent them to Poland, and we’ve posted some famous Christmas recipes on the Twinspace. We hope to receive some cards too!!!

Finally, we plan to have a visioconference session with Poland in January in order to see our penfriends "for real"! We really look forward to it!

Here are some reactions on the part of students:

• Meriem: "I like this project very much because it's interesting and it's a new project, I've never done this. I feel concerned by it as I try to answer all the questions our penfriends send us. This project makes me want to go and visit Poland! One day I hope..."
• Théo: "I really like this project because it's very good to understand other cultures and other ways of life. I find it interesting to discover other people and other climate, political system..."
• Imad: "The project with our Polish penfriends is a good idea. First I think it's good for us because we have an entertainment and it's better to do this than to do everyday classes. I do feel concerned by the project because I have my personal twinspace on the Internet."
