Let´s talk about science fair !

During our stay in England, we went to a primary school next to the Royal Latin School (in Buckingham). It was science fair day so we had to help little children discover science. To do so,  we made chemical reaction experiments with them.
We had to put one spoon of citric acid and one of sodium bicarbonate in a film case, then we added water and closed the little box. The reaction made carbon dioxyde bubble, so the pressure increased and the lid flew away.
It was very funny to see children do that, they really liked it.
At the end of the day we were dirty and very tired but so happy !

Scienc fair

Oxford

On Thursday, we went to Oxford which is located one hour away from Buckingham, the town where we stayed for the whole week.

First of all, we visited the Museum Of Natural History where we saw different sorts of animals, skeletons and rocks. It was interesting but pretty repetitive. In fact we did not have many explanations.

After that, we had a free time. We first went shopping in Oxford's streets in order to buy some presents for our relatives. And they were those famous Oxford's sweatshirts.

In the afternoon, we visited Trinity College: its dinning-hall, the chapel and the gardens. It was really lovely and beautiful. We took amazing pictures of the place to have some souvenirs. Finally, we saw the library and the theatre which is definitely impressive.

To conclude, we really enjoyed our day. It is a place we are not used to seeing in France. It's really different. For instance, we were amazed by the number of bicycles: actually there are more bicycles than cars. Be careful! You ‘d better pay attention to them instead of cars.
Moreover, the other thing that was weird is the fact that there was a graveyard right in the center of the city. It was creepy and pretty scary.

Furthermore, students who study in Oxford are really lucky. Though it is really expensive and it is weird as well that you do not have to pay for your studies while studying but later when you get a job. You have not even started in life that you already have to deal with money problems.

Once upon a time...

An old school, six hundred years old, having all its bricks.

One day, some French people, amazing people, from a fifty-year-old high school, with buildings in "excellent" conditions, came to the Royal Latin School.

On Tuesday, they met the headteacher Mr.Hudson, a really nice person. Then, the head boy and head girl came to make the visit of their school.

But something strange differentiated the French people from the others ...

All the English people wore suits and ties, and were not afraid of cold weather.

Despite this difference, French and English students went to several lessons together.

And they enjoyed the trip and had many good memories.

Here you are the Good Students rules :

- Class clothes you will wear.

- Revise you will have to.

- Lessons you will learn.

- Stop chatting in class you will have to.

Some questions asked by English students:
- " Do French people think in English? "

- " Are your daily television news in English? "

It was an amazing trip !

Thank you Royal Latin School, Ms. Fior and Mr. Stortz.

One day in Oxford

On Thursday we went to Oxford. First we went to the University Museum of Natural History. There are huge dinosaur skeletons, a lot of stuffed animals and some minerals. It was really interesting. Then we had free time, so we went shopping. In Oxford we found many shops selling Harry Potter's  stuff such as magic wands, flying broom (Nimbus 2000),... and Oxford University's sweatshirts. We bought the original candies of Harry Potter: the Jelly Beans.

After shopping we lunched at Burger King® and it was so delicious, it is the best fast food in the world. Next we went to the Museum of History of Science. It was enriching. Later, we had to meet a guide in front of the Ashmolean Museum. She was a French guide who has lived in Beziers before, for two years.

She showed the different colleges in Oxford and told us you need to join a college to be allowed to study in a University. She also pointed out the places where the Harry Potter's movies were shot to us. We had a really nice time and if it is possible we would like to come back.

 Champions league Football match…

My favourite moment in this trip was on the tuesday evening.

My partner’s father took us to London to watch the Champions League game Arsenal-Anderlecht.

We took the train and the tube to go to the Emirates Stadium and when we entered in the stadium. It was just a dream come true.

When the game started, I was so impressed by the atmosphere created by the fans.

It was just a wonderful night because I love football and this club in particular.

I'll never forget this moment even if the score is so bad: a draw 3-3 with a last goal at the 89’ for Anderlecht."
